Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 20, 2026. This was drafted to actually cover what this specific site collects and does with it, not generic boilerplate — but it was not written or reviewed by a lawyer. Have it reviewed before relying on it for a real launch.
1. Information We Collect
When you submit an offer, we collect your name, email address, a description and photo of the item you're offering, and your reason for offering it.
If you're invited to submit a trader profile, we collect your name, bio, photo, and optionally a website link.
We also collect standard web server information (like your IP address) for security and spam prevention.
2. How We Use It
- To review and respond to your offer or trader profile submission;
- To contact you about the status of your submission;
- To publicly display approved content, as described below.
3. What's Public and What's Not
Your email address is never shown publicly — it's used only to contact you about your submission. Your name, and any bio, photo, or website you choose to submit and that gets approved, may be displayed publicly on the Site (for example, on the trade timeline or trader gallery).
4. Third-Party Services
We use a couple of third-party services that may process limited information on our behalf:
- Cloudflare Turnstile, to help prevent spam on the offer form. Turnstile may process your IP address and browser information as part of that check — see Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
- An email delivery service (SMTP or an API-based provider), used to send you notifications about your submission. Your email address is shared with this provider solely to deliver those messages.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
5. Data Retention
We keep submitted information for as long as needed to operate the Site, including maintaining the historical trade record. You can request deletion of your personal information (see "Your Rights" below) — note that information tied to public trade history may be kept in a de-identified form to preserve that record even after a deletion request.
6. Your Rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. If you're a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what we collect and the right to request deletion — we'll respond to verifiable requests as the law requires.
7. Children's Privacy
The Site isn't directed at children, and we require anyone submitting an offer or profile to be at least 18. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you provide (for example, passwords are never stored in plain text, and the site is served over HTTPS), but no method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
10. Contact
Questions about this policy, or requests about your personal information, can be sent to hello@cachetrades.co.
